“They’re probably going to show is some of the folks that eventually parlayed being a blacksmith into doing things later in life. He said he wasn’t involved in devising the Florida Board of Education’s standards but defended components instructing that enslaved people were taught skills that benefited them. He doubled down on earlier arguments that the new curriculum was needed to prevent liberal indoctrination and accused Harris of attempting “to demagogue” and politicize history. His remarks in Utah came as Vice President Kamala Harris gave a speech across the country in Jacksonville, admonishing a DeSantis-backed Black history curriculum approved by the Florida Board of Education this week. “Politics has a role, but I don’t think it should be the number one divide in our country.” “My fighting faith is faith in God,” DeSantis said. But a show of strength in a heavily Republican state like Utah could buoy DeSantis’ effort. The former president has remained a front-runner despite his mounting legal problems, including an expected indictment in a Justice Department investigation into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. His primary rival Donald Trump has performed comparatively worse than other Republicans in Utah, where the majority of the population are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The state’s March 5 primary could be a beacon of strength for the Florida governor’s stalled bid. Speaking in front of a group of 17 state lawmakers in the Western state’s capital, DeSantis defended his campaign’s strategy and support in early states including Iowa and New Hampshire while pledging to focus on Super Tuesday contests like Utah’s. If you continue to wait on the Lord, if you are weary, stay in a place of community that can help you anchor yourself. He addressed Thomas and said, “Here are my hands. As soon as Jesus walked in, he didn’t address everybody else. That’s why community is important when your life is falling apart. The beautiful thing is, even though he doubted, he was allowed to be around the community that believed. He was in a bad spot, and his faith was fading. How can someone hold on to their faith even as things are falling apart around them? Crazy faith is hearing from God through his Word or in prayer, then obeying what he’s saying. Crazy faith allows me to give generously to somebody who I don’t even think needs what I have. It allows me to forgive.įorgiving is crazy faith. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been going through a situation and I’m just reading the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and God speaks to me through his Word and it changes my situation and allows me to start walking in crazy faith. When you allow the Word of God to get inside you, it increases your faith. It’s the only book that you read it and it reads you. The Bible is one of the main ways that God speaks to us. Yet the God who parted seas, who made the sun stand still, who gave Abraham and Sarah a baby in old age, is the same God in our lives today. Our generation believes in Google more than God. Crazy faith is trusting in something that you can’t explicitly prove.
